Shock of shocks... Wanda Sykes is a lesbian. Obviously, but good for her for coming out! Jacques and I love her, and she is a scream with Jane Fonda in "Monster In Law." Hilarious. This ban on gay marriage has definitely pushed people into madness as rallies and protests have been produced in cities all over the country. The gays ain't playing the straights game. Civil unrest, abounds. Even here locally there are e-mails being shot all over the place, accusations flying about who is "YES on 8" and who's for equality for everyone. Sides are quickly being taken, ("Gauntlets were thrown") placing a local call for boycotts on certain businesses who have chosen to be honest about their decisions on what they believe is right (however wrong they may be). This story is (as Frank Stallone sang) "Far From Over."
I watch The Weather Channel as much as I watch the Gem Shopping Channel... (did I say that last part outloud!?) Love Jim Cantore (sexy man!) and the music for your "Local on the 8's" segments is kicky and fun. I like listening comfortably from my office at home about other parts of the world and live vicariously. As unfortunate fires burn in Southern California feverishly, people put their lives on the line as they either fight the fire, protect their own houses alone, or both. Lets look at it this way, people... If allegedly 10 % (which I think it's time for a new poll--haha! "pole") of the population is gay, then 10 % of the firefighters (if not more--winkwink!) are gay, then you can say the equality of someone saving you, your family, your life, is not as important as yours? That brave man or woman's rights for the same things in life as you is not worthy of a chance? We're not any threat to you scared straight people. You can keep your bridal registries at Pier 1 and Things Remembered! No harm done. WAKE UP!
And on that note, I will finish by saying this... if what I say changes one person's mind in the right direction (ours), I've pulled a "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation:1814" haven't I?!
Think about it. O, Happy Day =]

I'm ready for gays in the make-up and wedding planning and catering business to boycott straight ceremony work until we get our rights...that'll shake things up...
Madness, one of my favourite words...perfect for describing what's going on right now...
I hope we keep it under control, acting out is just going make us seem out of hand and isn't going to win us any friends or influence people in all of this...
Sheer MADNESS, girl (!) Thanks for responding =] SM.
